About the Learning & Assessment Process

Learning the rules requires the same amount of time either way. You can choose to do the learning with us in the classroom, or study online at times that suit you and in the comfort of your own home.

A regulated closed book theory exam must be done in the presence of; and under control of our approved instructor. Additionally you will do the practical on-water training and assessment with us.

When you have completed all training and assessment, a Course Completion Certificate will be given to you so you can take it to Qld Transport to obtain your licence and pay their fee.

The boat licence course timings are regulated by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and takes a minimum of 6.5 hours to complete; including assessments, theory and practical. Additional regulated time is required if also doing the PWC licence.

Darryn has one of the most unique Boat Safe Training Providers Industry History and Experience available for you.

He has an Open Coxswain and a long history in the marine industry, ranging from Port to Port vessel deliveries, running a renowned game fishing Charter business on Hamilton Island, working in some of Australia's largest boat & Jet Ski dealerships, to owning a Multi - Award Winning Marine Shop. After a well deserved brake Darryn also returned to his old store he assisted the current owners in all tasks including boat handovers for new owners.

Darryn's wealth of industry experience and passion for boating and Jet Skiing now has expanded across the country providing his services to work at Major Boat Shows and assist in industry growth to all dealers.

Not forgetting his core focus training his students, Darryn is a down to earth and keeping it real, simple yet extremely informative and easy to understand type of trainer which helps all.
