Spending the day canoeing or kayaking in the Noosa Everglades is one option to experience this unique eco-system.
Another option is to stay several days and camp overnight in one of the many public riverside campgrounds and combine your canoeing or kayaking experience with a range of other activities. For example, the park offers a variety of walking trails to suit all levels of interest, some of which are only accessible by boat.

Our most popular multi-day trip into the Everglades comprises 3-days and 2-nights (3D2N) and is packaged so that all you need supply is your own clothes, food and personal items. We provide the canoes, all the camp and cooking gear and, as an option, our water taxi service to deliver you to and/or to pick you up the gateway to the Everglades at Kinaba. You may also do an overnight trip across only two days or stay as long as wish.
Price depends on:

In calm, low-wind conditions the water taxi is not normally required. However, Lake Cootharaba is notorious for the breeze to strengthen from the south during most days and consequently we suggest that paddlers consider our water taxi service for at least the return leg from Kinaba to either Elanda Point or Boreen Point.
When you make a booking with us, we will normally discuss the expected weather with you and advise according.
These overnight hires are normally offered daily but are always subject to availability, acceptable weather and various other factors including the occasional national park closure. Since some preparations are required by you and us, these hires need to be booked in advance – please use our booking request form or contact us directly to discuss and obtain more details and guidance.
We encourage early starts in order to help get the best paddling conditions, and thus we aim to meet you here in Boreen Point at 6:30am. We do open from sunrise so if you'd like to arrive earlier or later, please just talk to us about this. The preparations for packing your boat and the safety briefing can take up to 90 mins
We'll meet you just outside the entrance to the National Park, and you then follow us in your vehicle for the 3-min drive to the launch area - our actual meetup address is beside the group of four letterboxes located at 59 Lake Flat Road, Boreen Point
Together we prepare and help you to load your boats - canoes or kayaks - ready to get underway
Next, we provide you with detailed briefings on how to reach your chosen camp site and what to see along the way, map reading, landmark identification, paddling and boat handling techniques and emergency procedures - all intended to help ensure your trip into the Everglades is safe and enjoyable
Most hires are provided with GPS tracking devices, enabling us to remotely monitor your progress - in the event of any issues we will attempt to advise and assist you
You may follow our recommended route and timings through the Everglades or vary these to your own interests. There are opportunities to stop along the way, some toilets are available, and through the whole trip you can indulge in fishing, swimming, bird watching, photography, hiking and other activities as you prefer
We will advise you on timings necessary to help you get back and complete your trip by whatever time you need
This map shows the approx 6.2km route across Lake Cootharaba between Boreen Point and the entrance to the Noosa Everglades at Kinaba, on the northern shore of the lake.
