As a 16 time IGFA World Record holder, Mark Hope knows which tackle is best for any possible scenario and will not try to sell you gear you don't need for the sake of making a profit. We stock the best brands at extremely competitive prices, and are always on the lookout for new and more effective ways to catch Barramundi of all sizes. We try our hardest to offer the best possible service and will bend over backwards to help you out. We also offer underwater video of nearly all of our lures on their individual product page, which we believe is a world first for any tackle shop. WHO ARE WE

World Record Barra Tackle is owned and operated by 16 time IGFA World Record Holder Mark Hope. Mark grew up in Yamba, Northern NSW on the spectacular Clarence River, a well known fishing destination. At a young age Mark spent months learning to master a baitcast reel in order to catch Bass with his father and brother in the freshwater streams surrounding Grafton.

After University Mark moved to Cairns chasing employment as a Pharmacist, and 2 years later shifted up the hill to Yungaburra on Lake Tinaroo to open his own business. Initially he only wanted to catch a single Barra, buying a stocked impoundment permit on new years day 2008. This single Barra took over a month of fishing almost every night, however he was bitten by the bug. After approximately 6 months of fishing Tinaroo, Mark started to chase IGFA World Records, and has now become the holder of more Barramundi World Records than any other angler.

Lake Tinaroo is a world renowned fishing destination holding more current and retired IGFA world records than any other location, however there was no tackle store situated at either of the 2 towns on the lake. With a strong Interest in fishing and business, Mark decided to bring quality tackle to the lake, focusing on HIGH END TACKLE FOR MONSTER BARRAMUNDI. This combined with a detailed understanding of the Lake and species help to provide information and assistance to all who like to fish for Barramundi, from beginners through to experts.

World Record Barra Tackle is located at 32 Cedar St Yungaburra, directly across from the Lake Eacham Hotel (Yungaburra Pub). We are a combined business with Yungaburra Pharmacy, with signage for both businesses located outside the premises. If World Record Barra Tackle can prove itself as a standalone business, we would like to purchase a separate premises in the not too distant future.
